Actually it seems that LEGO's failed collaboration with MUJI resulted in LEGO FORMA, a lot of similarities, I recommend you take a look at it.
But with FORMA they decided to go to plastic sheets which makes sense after the problems they had with the "paper" with the MUJI sets, explained in the video...
