LEGO has finally released the beta version of the long-awaited new LEGO Minifigure Factory online, apparently only available for the US at the moment. This easy-to-use online tool allows you to configure your own minifigure in a variety of ways, including its face, head, torso, legs and accessories. You can try out the tool here. These custom minifigures cost $11.99. The factory is still in beta, so it may not be available when you click, as they are likely to run several test phases to gather feedback from users, it should be noted that there is also a limit of one minifigure per household at the moment.
The Minifigure Factory while still missing some extra options to make it more interesting, offers quite a bit of customisation, so it won't be too difficult to achieve the LEGO minifigure you want, being able to choose the face and haircut or hat for your figure. There aren't an overwhelming number of options, making it fairly easy to see all the possibilities that might appeal to you. The leg and accessory options are also fairly straightforward.
Where you have the most creative options is on the torso of the minifigure. You can select the type of shirt or suit you want for your minifigure. You can enter text in a variety of fonts and colours, and decorate it with images from a range of categories such as sports, animals, accessories and more.
The resulting minifigures look exactly like the ones that come in LEGO sets. The company has already hinted that it will be adding more customisation options in the future, as expected, and also says it welcomes suggestions from fans - do you dare to configure and order your own LEGO minifigure, click here!
