As the title says I wonder if LEGO baseplates are going to be retired soon, I feel that they are in disuse and seeing that they continue to promote new road systems do you think we are facing the end of the baseplates?
There is no official announcement, in theory they are not going anywhere, I think their disappearance from sets is more of a cost saving thing than an indication that they are going away. In the case of the road baseplates, it's possible that they will be phased out or even discontinued due to the new LEGO City road system, time will tell!
