Apparently they say that they have been holding prices for some time during the pandemic, so it is not only due to inflation, but rather to a cumulative effect of these 2-3 years.
They can say what they want, but LEGO has never been a cheap product, obviously if they "held" the prices is because they could easily afford it, this is simply to adjust their bulky profit margins, if it was for the reason they say they would have raised them at least 6 months ago.
But well, no surprise really, in the end this is business... the AFOLs without a doubt the most affected, because coincidentally all these increases are aimed at the +18 sets, which are also growing steadily.
I agree 100%, it is simply that. And as you say the worst thing is that the +18 line is the most affected, anyway we will see how this affects the new releases (of all the themes), it makes me shudder to think about the releases of next year... 🥶
