It would be nice to have some confirmation, but I'll trust you...
I found it! It turns out that they do expire, but only if you stop using your LEGO account for 18 months, here is the source (https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/help/lego_vip/lego_vip/lego-vip-points-expiry-kA009000001dbuPCAQ)

We are rolling out the new Brickzip achievement system, more details on that soon. It's likely that if you're an experienced Brickzip user you'll be unlocking a lot of achievements at once, so don't...Achievements raining down here! 🤣
I have a few guesses, but I'll wait for the response to @Tommy comment...
